The Upper Austrian statehouse

0

Hi guys,

on the 21 Mai 2015 our class visited the Upper Austrian statehouse. We and our parallel class listened to the politicians, who had a Landtags session. The main topics were, a combined road and rail ticket for whole Austria and a discussion between the MPs of the FPÖ and the MPs of the ÖVP.

What interested me most, was the discussion between the two parties. Basically what the discussion talked about, was the current immigrant's situation in Austria.

The ÖVP has the idea to accommodate the immigrants in Austrian Armed Forces barracks. The FPÖ mean instead, that this is no solution, because if immigrants come to Austria, they always have a reason. The reason, which is often the case, is war in their home country.

The FPÖ mean, this cannot be ask to immigrants. So the FPÖ said this isn't acceptable. If somebody flees from a war, you cannot put this immigrant into military barracks.

In my opinion this is not true, because the immigrants should be happy to stay in Austria. If they don't accept this, they should go back in their home country. They should be happy with the things, they get.

General Election of the UK on 7 May 2015

0

Hi guys,

a few days ago during the English lesson, we were talking about the general election of 2015 in the UK. For this reason, I have informed myself about the result and the parties.

On the 7 May 2015 was the election of the 56th parliament of the United Kingdom. The term general election in the United Kingdom often refers to the elections held on the same day in all constituencies of their Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Commons. Under the terms of the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, the period between one general election and the next is fixed at 5 years, unless the Commons passes a motion of no confidence in the Government sooner than that, or if the House of Commons, with the support of at least two thirds of its members, resolves that a general election should take place sooner.

One of the parties in the UK is the Conservative Party, officially the Conservative and Unionist Party, is a centre-right political party. It currently stands as the majority party in the House of Commons, after winning 331 seats in the 2015 general elections. Before the dissolution of the previous parliament, it was the largest single party with 303 Members of Parliament, and governed under a coalition with the Liberal Democrats. At the time of the May 2015 election, it was the largest party in local government with 8,296 councillors and the largest party in the House of Commons with 331 seats of the possible 650.

The most important Ministers in the cabinet of ministers are David Cameron. David Cameron is Prime Minister, First Lord of the Treasury and Minister for the Civil Service. The prime minister has the directive competence within the government, appoints the members of his cabinet, co-ordinates her work and those of her ministries, takes part in ceremonial occasions, is the "face" of the government in the United Kingdom and outside.

This is the absolute result. The numbers are the seats in the houses of commons.
